THE CITY OF ADDERSFIELD
THE CITY OF ADDERSFIELD / 2020
Inspired by the work of film graphic designer Annie Atkins, I am seeking to exclusively utilize the medium of graphic design to tell a story. The City of Addersfield is an interactive narrative experience. Through the specific curation of physical and printed ephemera, Addersfield tells the layered story of small town fire being investigated for an insurance claim. The audience is asked to engaged with and explore the tactile evidence to gain perspective and understanding of goings-on within the quaint, lumber-ridden community.
What do time cards, telegrams, and tree oils have to do with an arson case?
The City of Addersfield is project completed for the Graphic Design Senior Thesis class at Lawrence Technological University. The corresponding book and analysis can be viewed here.
